Again, if your 'new and improved' photo app decides to no longer support a mime type in drag&drop, it is a feature-loss and a bad one at that. There's no single reason other than 'oh we don't have time for this' to cripple Photo like that. It is a trend I'm seeing more and more with Apple software. From the wifi disaster with Mac Books to Mail crashing happily, to even Safari not being rock-solid anymore.

At least in versions prior to 2016 when you open an Office application for very first time, a Cache File of all the Fonts on the Mac is generated. (I say Prior to 2016, because Office applications open so slow I doubt they even generate cache file and have to take time to hunt all over the computer for fonts.). Of course MS keeps compatibility with its own applications - So does Apple as stated But apple can not change third party programs to keep them compatible just as MS can not change third party procucts RE Read Old Toad's answer and you weill see that ti exactly says what you are touting MS for doing Apple has ensured that using Mail with the new Photos there is no feature loss. The fact that you choose to use a 3rd party app puts that responsibility on the 3rd party developers who had lots of time with the beta version of Yosemite in order to provide the necessary upgrades to their software.
